The Grameen Ayurvedic medical college, Terdal started at Terdal in the year 1997, with an intention to impart Medical education in Ayurveda for Rural students as well as to provide the privilege of Ayurveda treatment to Rural People.

The institution is recognized by the Govt. of Karnataka under its G.O.No AKUK 224 PIM 96, Bangalore, and dated 23-05-1996 and also recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi.

It is affiliated to Rajiva Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore to teach AYURVEDACHARYA degree course B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery) prescribed by C.C.I.M.

The institution is exactly located at Vidyagiri in Gurukul Campus which consist about 30 acres of Land. In the campus we are having college building, hospital section, Boy's & Girl's Hostel, Herbal Garden, Auditorium Hall, Principal Quarter, Staff Quarter, Gymkhana, Separate play Ground for boys & girls etc. in short we can say that this campus provides ideal environment for a quality medical education and thus justify its name GURUKUL CAMPUS.
